Governor Vacancy on Upton Snodsbury Cof E First School Governing Body
Upton Snodsbury CofE First School Governing Body is currently looking to fill a Governor vacancy. Expressions of interest are therefore being sought from parents/community who would wish to become more involved in the work of the Governing Body. The Governing Body comprises a number of people who represent different interests within the school. Their role is to help formulate the strategic direction of the school.
The term of office runs for 4 years and, during this time, you would be asked:-
(a) to attend, and actively participate in four meetings a term (usually held in the evening for a period of 2 hours), on an occasional basis, to assist with other meetings or projects
(b) read and respond to information that is sent out via email or other sources; and to undertake induction training.
Beyond this, additional training and support is also available to assist Governors to undertake the role expected of them. Detailed information about the role of a school governor can be found in the Governors’ Handbook, which is issued by the Department for Education.
